Jan 08. Next up Hunter and I spent some time traveling to the O’Reilly AX produced by MAP productions. The trip to Odessa was not so good. We had the pace and were on target to finish up front, making the mains in both classes with a 2nd in the 7-8 and 4th in the Mini-Mini. That’s when things went bad. Hunter’s bike lost 4 teeth on the transmission. We opted not to race it in the next race instead we hit the snack bar and watched the pros tangle for the money. A week later we headed to Waco to redeem Cobra and that we did! In the 50cc 7-8 Hunter was able to fight off the Munn KTM for the win overall and gave chase to some KX65 riders in the Mini-Mini to get 3rd overall. He got to be spotlighted in the night show and played famous for 15 minutes, so needless to say he was excited.

Last Sunday we took Hunter Budd and Jason Norman to the TORN ( Texas off Road Nationals) where they collected their prized and trophies for finishing so well. Jason Norman (COB 536) came out swinging with little riding experience and even less racing time he was able to learn every time and ended the season with the 1st place overall, Hunter would have had 1st overall, but we missed a race for a funeral he did the best he could and ended with 2nd overall. To his joy he also won the KX65 that was raffled to the Pee-Wee class.
